I am a licensed professional counselor in Maryland and Washington D.C.  I was first licensed in 2004.  I have a Master Degree in Psychology from Bowie State University.  Prior to licensure as a counselor, I worked primarily in a corrections environment.  I specialize in the treatment of anger management issues, addictions, and anxiety and depression.

MD Board Approved Supervisor

I am approved by the MD counseling board as an LCPC supervisor.  I am qualified to supervise graduate interns, LGPCs for licensure, as well as to provide ongoing supervision and consultation for already licensed counseling professionals.  I draw on my years of experience as a counselor in guiding our supervision sessions.  Quality supervision is an important way to ensure ethical practice and continue building upon your professional skills.

I am nationally licensed as a Master Addictions Counselor, in addition to my licensure as a Mental Health Counselor.   I draw on my 25 years of experience in corrections, behavioral health, and mental health counseling in my approach to addictions treatment.  I use a trauma-informed model and emphasize harm-reduction methods in working with individuals struggling with addictions.  I conduct comprehensive addiction assessments and provide referrals to ensure individuals get the help they need.

I am approved by the MD counseling board to provide supervision to Drug and Alcohol Trainees.  I draw on my 13 years of experience as a Licensed Professional Counselor, as well as my years of experience in community corrections in providing support and advice for professionals working in this challenging and rapidly changing field.
